Publisher's summary

Archangel Squadron faces off against the forces of the brutal Protectorate to claim a prize, and save humanity, in a gripping novel of deep space jeopardy by the author of the Odyssey One series.

At the helm of a commandeered freighter, Captain Steph Michaels has infiltrated the Free Star systems. Leading a captive crew, and posing as a privateer, he's on a mission to seize a precious resource from an enemy outpost. Backed by his Archangel Squadron, it's a smash-and-grab operation he can pull off in his sleep. Until it isn't.

Before he and his "pirates" can strike, they're met with an unexpected obstacle. The mining compound they're targeting also houses camps of slave laboring families. It's an innocent population Steph refuses to sacrifice as collateral damage, and his morality will drive him to greater extremes than ever before. With a ruthless enemy commander facing them down, Steph will find himself in conflict with not just the Free Stars but potentially with the Empire itself.

The odds of victory? Impossible to foretell.

Well # 2 (Rising) was exhilarating.

I’m glad that I reread “Archangel One” that way it worked as one big book.
This one is a full scale 10 ticket ride. With a “Princess Bride” reference tossed in just at the right spot. A real rollercoaster of a story. Jumping from the Archangels to Odysseus seamlessly and each story/timeline works. Each ending is fantastic can’t wait 4 #3

A continuation of the Odyssey series well done.

The underlying storyline is that the Empire is a bumbling bunch of fools. They control by sheer weight of numbers.

Can’t wait for the next one!

Great listen. Story is great but performance butchers the names established by previous narration. Seems too short. Hope #3 comes out soon.

great book

look I am someone who loves science fiction books and I enjoyed this one enough to spend credits on the series which is a hard thing to do for someone such as myself.

Great continuation but too short

Parts had a lot of excitement and good techno detail, but as I said the book was too short.
My major beef with the performance was that readers really should use the same pronunciation of names as the previous reader; arrogance ruins it for thousands of listeners.

Intriguing developments in the ongoing story

Overall this is a satisfying entry in the series. There were a few times where I felt like it was heading towards tediousness, but it ended with some very interesting developments and I’m interested to see where it goes next.
