First hand account

I am not sure what the “author” did here - maybe editor would be a better term. In any case, this is a day to day diary of one of the earliest visitors to Yellowstone.

It is great to listen to daily activities of a party of gentlemen who spend a month exploring Yellowstone, mostly near Lake Yellowstone.

They discover the treacherous deception of crust surfaces that look like dirt but break through to steaming water as soon as you step on them. They awaken to the explosion of a geyser, silently hidden just yards from their campsite. They observe, in awe, Yellowstone Falls.

A very enjoyable listen. Much to my surprise the “Virtual Reader” did a fine job - not a robotic monotone reading at all. He does not have much personality but he speaks clearly and pronounces the place names correctly!
