Cassie

How to make the handsome, brooding man across the street notice me?

Step one: Deliver baked goods to his front porch, even though he never answers his door and always returns the containers when I'm not home.

Step two: Slowly lose my mind as a whole year passes without ever running into him, no matter how hard I try.

Step three: Have my boudoir photos accidentally delivered to his mailbox instead of mine. Have him open the package. Then have him storm into my home for the most panty-melting scolding of my life.

Step four: Still figuring out step four.

Hans

I'm a dangerous man.

A man who has spent the last two decades removing so many souls from this earth that it's a miracle my hands aren't permanently stained red.

I'm a man who belongs in the shadows. I certainly don't belong in my pretty little neighbor's bedroom when she's not home, touching her things and inhaling her scent.

I shouldn't follow her. Shouldn't watch her. No number of cookies on my doorstep will change the fact that love isn't an option for me.

The only option left for me is violence.

Best of 4

In my opinion this one was the best of the four. I liked Cassie the most and Hans’ story. Couldn’t stop listening.

LOVED!

I’ve loved all the books in this series. But this was the best in my opinion. The main characters were loveable throughout the entire book. Highly recommend if you’re looking for spice & sweetness in the same book.

Proving even psychopaths can find family

I love this series. But I have to say this was one of the weaker books. It felt a little “less” than the others. Felt like everything wrapped up at the end in Christmas bows and tinsel. But the series as a whole was amazing and I would not have skipped this one. The Hans character was compelling enough in the first 3 stories to make me want to find out his story. If I’m being honest, I’ve listened to the whole series more than once. But doubt I will relisten to this one.

The Alliance never disappoints!

Just like the rest of the Alliance guys, Hans had me fanning myself and kicking my feet so many times I lost count! Probably my favorite next to Nero’s book, and I’m in hardcore denial that the series is over 😫 please, please, please let there be a spinoff series coming 🤞🏻🤞🏻🫶🏻

Amazing ending

This was such a good book. It was the perfect mix of new story and old characters. Loved seeing how it tied all the loose strings up. Just wish we got a Robb and Aspen book.

No hesitation love

I really love this collection. I waited patiently for this one to be released and it didnt disappoint. I didn’t know if I could be more enamored by a character than Dom, but Hans is up there! I love the no holds barred devotion obsession and almost unsettling infatuation. It’s really good!! 😈🗡️

I ❤️ this series!!!!

Strong female and male characters. Bad guys that also do good. Lots of hot sex. I wish this series would continue, but it did end on a great note.

❤️❤️❤️

My Favorite of the series!

SJ Tilly did it again. Makes you love the broken, possessive, dangerous alpha. Hans is all those things and more. Plus Chloe and Jack are amazing narrators! Love this series so much.

The creepiest cul-de-sac in America

That’s where the first half of this book takes place. The setup: Hans (H) is a wraith assassin with a heart. He only kills bad guys and then disappears. He works solo. He's mythical. Unlike all the other uber-rich guys in this series, Hans lives alone in a yucky old suburban house on a cul-de-sac where almost every other home is vacant. And he secretly owns all but one. His only neighbour is elderly. And Hans has been patiently waiting for her to die so he can buy her home and complete his set, like a game of monopoly 😂. This guy wants to be ALONE alone. Unfortunately, while he is abroad (murdering and maiming) he misses his chance. His neighbour passes away and Cassandra (h) moves in. She is young(ish) and pretty, all naivety and sunshine. Their story starts one year later when Hans has become OBSESSED with her.

Honestly, after the badass way Hans saved Dom in book 3, I did not expect him to be such a lone ranger. But he has a sad backstory and an equally sad lonely present. I mean, his fighting skills were impressive, but he was still a super weird, wounded recluse. There are some darkly comedic elements to this instalment: like Hans eating Cassandra's nasty cookies, his 'helpful' stalking, and the accidental murder with a bow-and-arrow.

There are also a few tropes thrown in: grumpy-sunshine, daddy kink, and age gap (although a real age gap to me is a decade or more). We also get to see our hero become slightly more socialized when he teams up with the Alliance, and his wifey meets their wives. This book was my second favourite of the series, after Nero.
