Publisher's summary

Painfully boring

I normally liked dos Santos novels, but this one is exceedingly tedious. It feels that the author wrote this by paraphrasing four sources: Wikipedia, New Scientist magazine, a few embarrassingly bad American TV shows and, of course, TV network talking-heads. So far as story goes, it is no better than a fifth-grader's attempt of a comic book script - well, I was not being fair: probably more like an eighth-grader’s attempt of a short sci-fi story. I get it that there is the covid pandemic going on, and he had to sit home with computer the only interface with the outside world. But does it have to be sooooo boring? Could he not have thought up at least one slightly more complex characters to populate his pages? Did he really need to throw in that many cliches? A total lack of inspiration seems to be the problem with this book.
