Historia
When Zach Connors and his pa left their Kentucky homestead in the summer of 1824 to see the Rocky Mountains, he didn't realize he would never see his childhood home again or that he would find love, friendship, fame, and a new home in this wild and harsh wilderness. After a grizzly kills his pa, Zach struggles to survive a cold and brutal winter alone. After killing a rouge grizzly and fighting hostile Indians on his own, he becomes known as Grizzly Killer and is respected throughout the West. Along with his dog, Jimbo, whom the Indians call the Great Medicine Dog, he finds Running Wolf, an injured Ute warrior, and together they fight off a hostile war party. They rescue two Shoshone sisters from the brutality of a French trapper and take them as wives.

He was the first Anglo-American to travel overland to California via the Southwest, and he roamed through more of the West than anyone else of his era. His adventures quickly became the stuff of legend. Using new information and sifting fact from folklore, Barton H. Barbour now offers a fresh look at this dynamic figure.

Two of the Johnstones’ most legendary heroes—the rugged mountain man known as Preacher and the Scottish clan rancher Jamie Ian MacCallister, here together for the first time—are forced to choose sides in a blood-soaked battle for the heart and soul of a nation divided. This is not the American dream they were looking for. This is a nightmare. A brutal, blood-drenched frontier war that two heroic men must fight and win—or one struggling nation will never come together. For liberty and justice for all.

Historia
The great state of Texas is a land of opportunity. For outlaws. And horse thieves. And cattle rustlers. Not to mention bank robbers, train robbers, and anything-that-ain’t-nailed-down robbers. The state’s governor, Richard B. Hubbard, is at the end of his rope. He wants to clean up Texas once and for all - and he’s desperate enough to try something crazy: hire a man who can do what the Texas Rangers can’t. A man not tied down by a wife or children. Or rules. Who’s not afraid to go outside the law. Who will protect the good people of Texas at any cost.

It’s 1852. The wounds of the Mexican War are healing. Regis Royle, co-owner of a steamship fleet, has made it out alive, relatively unscarred and with enough profit and foolhardy ambition to envision a new life in south Texas. With the help of his crack-shot kid brother Shepley, his glad-handing riverboat partner Cormac Delany, and his old friend, raw-edged former Texas Ranger Jarvis “Bone” McGraw, Regis is laying claim to the prime jewel in a magnificent rolling prairie: the Santa Calina range teeming with wild mustangs, cattle, and eighteen-thousand acres of lush promise.

Historia
Winner of an Obie and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, and directed by Tony nominee Leigh Silverman, Yellow Face is as timely as ever, wrestling with issues of cultural appropriation, complicity, and artistic freedom. It’s brought to life in this audio-only revival by a stunning all-star cast (many playing themselves) led by Daniel Dae Kim.

Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson. Before they were household names, these budding legends called Sue’s Nashville apartment—lovingly dubbed the “Boar’s Nest”—home. Sue’s place was an intimate staging ground where a new breed of singer-songwriters—wounded souls, wayward upstarts—would spur each other on to tap into something bigger, realer.

Historia
In the heart of the South Pacific lies Point Nemo, the most desolate and remote place on Earth. At its core is a dead zone, devoid of life, where government agencies crash their obsolete satellites and space stations, confident they won't harm a soul. When the International Space Station suffers a catastrophic failure and plummets through the atmosphere, it's here that Mission Specialist Julie Rohr, an astrobiologist studying living space dust called xylem, finds herself marooned. Julie's only hope for rescue lies in the hands of her estranged father, Dr. Finn Maddern, a renowned mycologist.

Very good series
Where does King of the Mountain rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Well, I can't answer this for myself as my husband & I are listening to this together when we go to bed at night. It's more for male tastes but I am still enjoying the series and we are going to continue. Well written, well narrated, great characters.

OUT HERE A MAN CAN BE A MAN, PROVIDED
HE LIVES LONG ENOUGH
I found the story interesting and entertaining. There were bits of history that I liked, all though they are told and are not part of the story telling. The book starts out with an interesting look at early New York City. The main character is very likeable. The story seems a bit YA, especially when the main character talks to his fiancé. She tells him the importance of making money and how she must live in the style of which she is accustomed. She than tries to control his future by getting him to work for her rich dad. The reader sees the wrong in all this, but not the main character.
GO EAT BEAR
King's trip to St. Louis is eye opening, as far as some of the troubles he runs into. When King meets his Uncle, who lured him out there on false pretenses, is when the story goes a little south for me. His uncle reminds me of some of the main characters of some of the prepper stories I have read. He is a know it all and has to put all forms of life down except his own. He leads King to Colorado and teaches him how to kill and scalp. The whole time going on about how this type of life is superior to city living. I found it ironic that he talks about city kids being spoiled and soft and worthless and than King, who is nineteen and born and raised in New York City, kills a harden Indian Warrior. The who time he tells King that he is leading him to riches, but will not tell him about the riches. The reader knows, but the not to smart King, can't figure it out. He even schools him on marriage. It is better to buy an Indian wife for a year or so, until you get tired of her and than you sell her and buy another wife. That is far superior to civilized types of marriage.
KING
While I did not like the uncle and most of his advise, I did like King and the adventures. While I did not like how the uncle lured his nephew out to Colorado or his views on marriage, I did dream about living in the beautiful Colorado Wilderness and living by my own wits and determination. By the end of the book, it looks as if King might be turning into his uncle, but since the book was entertaining I might check out the second book, to see if I am right.
Narrator
Most of the westerns at audible have the greatest narrators and they really set the mood for the books. Rusty Nelson is no exception, he is good and makes the book better to listen to, than to read it.
