Story
Briar County is in Southern Ohio—the gateway to Appalachia. People there move at their own pace. They hunt, they fish, they farm—but their secrets run deeper than the fishing holes that dot the countryside. And Dalton Edwards, DEA agent, is about to uncover a few after his boss sends him to Briar County on a low-priority assignment as punishment. His boss says it's a pot-growing operation, but Dalton thinks it's much bigger. Before his assignment ends, eight family members will be murdered under circumstances that Dalton knows have nothing to do with a hydroponic weed operation.

Publisher's summary
Eight bodies were found in less than four hours in Briar County, Ohio. Every significant member of the Hatfield family of Briarton, their ages ranging from 16 to 44, were shot execution-style inside of four different homes not far apart.
Local, federal, and state law enforcement officers have swarmed the community, interviewing more than 50 people and combing the wooded areas surrounding the crime scenes. Sheriff Charles Ridley called the investigation one of the largest in Briar County history. Ohio Attorney General Nick Devlin said the massacre was “pre-planned” and “sophisticated”.
A wealthy Ohio businessman out of Cincinnati, Ohio, offered a $25,000 reward to anyone with answers. But when the answers started to come, they only raised more questions. Fingers began to point, family conflicts grew, and before this crime was solved, one more local would be found dead.
Note: This novel is fictional, but based on true events that happened in Pike County, Ohio, in April of 2016.

Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.
