What you’ll learn

This course includes lessons one through five from the Spanish Level One program featuring 2.5 hours of language instruction. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons is included in each lesson. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension and on learning to speak Spanish.

The Spanish language

One of the best I’ve used

I’ve wanted to learn Spanish for some time. Took it multiple times in school but very little stuck. I bought this program hoping it would be helpful and surprisingly it is one of the best I’ve used thus far.

The lessons are easy but not simple. They are long enough without being too long so you don’t get overwhelmed or bored. And they stick to things that a relevant up front. If I skip a day I go back and listen to the prior lesson again on a fasted speed and see if I can keep up. If not, I repeat the lesson at the normal pattern and continue on. Sometimes I just repeat the lessons to get a better grasp.

I like that they weave in prior learning to current lessons so as to keep reminding you along the way. That along with the vocabulary seems to be doing the job. After the next few chapters, found in another audiobook in the series, I’ll see if I feel confident enough to try with my Spanish speaking friends. Mostly I find they talk soooo fast it’s hard to keep up yet. Again the reason I speed up the lessons when I repeat them.

Try speeding it up to 1.5 makes it more enjoyable and it easy to remember

Great Learning resource

I love the Pimsleur courses. they are the perfect resource to learn another language.
I pair the audiobooks with the Duolingo app and have been do impressed with how much ice learned in just a week!

learn to speak more fluently

it's helpful but must admits bit dull as times but learning Spanish and doin g a bit of freethinking. it's worked better than 2 years sitting in class but trying to pass tests and retaining nothing

this has been helpful in helping me learn a new language so far, but you'll need the actual book for some references

Engaging and interesting way to learn

Pimsleur Spanish has been a very helpful way for me to learn Spanish. And I am someone who has tried possibly more than 20 different learning Spanish programs, audiobooks, apps, etc. For me, the most beneficial aspect of Pimsleur Spanish is that it keeps me engaged. There are so many learning Spanish programs and apps which I have found to be boring. But Pimsleur is definitely not one of the boring ones. Another plus about Pimseur Spanish is that this updated version also includes Reading Lessons.

great way to learn quickly!

I knew some, non useful Spanish and had a difficult time picking up the language. after deciding to try I immediately noticed a difference with these books! I have a 45 minute commute and I listen to the same one lesson both on the way to work and home, and move on to the next lesson the next day. after a week I have gone through 5 lessons and they are sticking!! already bought the next book and I'm hoping to continue! make sure you look at the options for the book and you will find the PDF attachment for the reading. book 1 has the reading assignments for all Spanish 1's reading lessons.
