Publisher's summary

When Lady Moira Brennan leaves her home at Brennan Castle for the wilds of her own homestead claim in the Montana territory, she had no idea that a husband awaited her. Sold into marriage by her uncle, she arrives to find a bleak landscape of scarce farmers, all desperately trying to scratch out a living on their claims.

Pryor MacAteer came to Montana himself only three years ago, and his farm has prospered. All that he needs to make it complete is a wife and family, one whose passage he paid, and whose name is on the marriage contract.

Will Moira realize her dream of owning her own land and uncover the truth behind a marriage contract with her name on it?

Enjoyed this very much

I really like this authors writing style, it is very entertaining, exciting, funny, love the humor. The characters are a delight. I enjoy the baiting, little danger, the romance is a delight a long with the scenes are so vivid that you can almost picture them. Moira is a breath of fresh air with her little temper and ways, I love how she takes the bull by the horn not letting anything get in her way. Pryor with his attitude, I had to chuckle when he told her to come along someone else would be here for the other girl. It really was a good story that I listen to at one setting I just could not put it down.

The narrator did a good job, I love his character voices and how he puts emotion into his audio. However there was some kind of background noise, it almost sounded like turning pages and a click every now and than. He pauses to long between chapters. It is so long that I am not sure he is going to continue. Besides that it was great and I enjoyed it very much. There was no volume change and no repeating of words. There are a few questioning places but I think that is how the author wrote it. He made me chuckle and laugh with the emotion he put into it. I really did enjoy it.

Waiting On Book 2

I found this story to be a very nice change from some of the other mail order brides books. This bride came with her own money and a very independent streak that boded well for her groom. He knew from the start that she would be good for the land and him. I loved the way the maid became her friend and no longer a servant. I can't wait for book 2 and hope that it is the maids romance. The narrator was very good although the sound editing could have been better. He made the story come alive although his laughter parts were a bit stilted.

Great beginning to a series

Strong women always appeal to me. Moira is the perfect example of a strong woman, set out to keep her family safe and remain true to herself. In Ireland, she is royalty, and with this charge comes arranged marriages. She does not want to marry the man that is said to be her dead father's arrangement, and as a result, her brother will have to dual for her. She escapes to America to save her brother from impending doom and becomes a land owner. Little does she know, her conniving uncle, who wants all the inheritance has set a plan in motion to prevent her from her success. In strides Pryor, the man whom unbeknownst to the evilness, contracts to marry Moira. They meet and once things are realized, he teaches her all there is to know about life in Montana. Their feelings for each other grow and the whole plan results in a total backfire. Not only is there turmoil in Ireland, but In America as well! Lots of fun and emotion in this packed novel.

Charles D Baker has a wonderful banter with this book. The perfect western accent for Pryor and an amazing Irish accent for Moira, you have no problem picturing the two and their friends through the journey.

An Unexpected Pleasant Surprise..

Any additional comments?

Moira, the female lead, left her Home for America to protect her brother and to avoid an arranged marriage.

Next, She decides to become a landowner in Montana.

When she arrives in Montana she meets Pryor. the male lead, and he offers her a marriage contract.

Things aren't what they "seem".

There is an underhanded scheme going on while the romance develops slowly.

Overall, this book was a quick, clean western romance.

Charles D Baker did well with the Narration.

Well Written. Well Narrated.

Lady Moria leaves a castle in Ireland to avoid a loveless marriage, only to realize her uncle has forged documents to force in to a marriage with a stranger in Montana. Pryor waits for his bride at the train, not expecting the strong will woman who will not marry out of convince.

The plot sounds over used and predicable, however the writing is very well done and the plight of women of royal birth expressed well that the book came alive for me.an excellent, clean read. I will read more from Amelia Rose. The male narrator often does women's voices better than women do men's voices.
