Publisher's summary

I NEVER wanted to be a daredevil. Even as the 49-year-old adult that I am, I still don’t want to ride a roller coaster or jump out of a perfectly good airplane. And I don’t understand people who want to do those things—even my lifelong best friend.

And yet, here I am, holding a list of daredevil-ish things in my hand at my best friend’s will reading. I am SO going to get her back for this in the afterlife.

So, my outgoing, adventurous best friend decided to leave me her estate but only if I completed her bucket list. HERS, not mine. And I have to do it before I turn 50 because she didn’t make it to 50.

I don’t know if it’s appropriate to want to kill someone who’s already dead, but I can’t help how I feel. Still, I want to honor her wishes. And I kind of want that beach house she left me, too. The next few months will either change my life, or I might join her in heaven if one goes terribly wrong.

Sounds like AI

Reads like a Hallmark movie, very predictable. Truly thought it was being read via AI and was shocked during the credits to hear there was a narrator.

READ this instead of listening.

The reader sounded worse than Siri. The story suffered because of the performance. I was thankful that it was a short book so I could listen to it in small chunks and take breaks.

I loved this story of going outside of her comfort zone.

I loved this story and it really held my interest. I did not care for the narrator. I thought it was robotic and older than Jill with an accent more of northern states than the south. Not that speaking with a southern accent is necessary, but as the book went on, I became more aware of the flat, monotone, robotic voice that seemed to make Jill’s complaints seem much more pronounced than I think it would’ve been by reading. I still enjoyed the story very much.

Nice summer read

Predictable yet fun! Person reading had a monotone voice which I think took away from the story. Story had a good lesson: face your fears and go out of your comfort zone and you might find happiness!

Amateur reader…skip this one

The story is OK. The reader is literally reading the book to you. The same voice for every character with very little voice or intonation. No pauses, no inflection. Skip this…it is not worth the money or the credit.

Worst narrative ever!

While the story is light, has a nice premise and a good beach read, stick to the book! I was so disappointed and distracted by the robotic narration, I almost stopped it several times. You want a narrator to paint pictures with their words, take you to places you can visualize. Because the reading was so lifeless, it made the characters flat and lifeless.

Most Blase' Narrator i have encountered.

The book is really a cute story. Fun storyline and funny moments. BUT, should have read rather than listen to this narrator.
Another one i have to watch out for.

Robotic narration

The narrator of this books sounds like bad AI. It was painful. The premise of the story was good, but I wish I had read the physical book instead of listening to it.

The bond the 2 women shared was sweetly portrayed and the book was filled with humor.

The inflection in the reader’s voice was irritating and the storyline was too predictable with no suspense.

Heart warming story.

Relatable story about how someone will overcome anxiety, deal with grief, and gain confidence in life.
