Real Narrative
The author depicts the real narrative of what is unfolding currently is US western lands. The main character is courageous to us and others but weak in his own eyes because he measures his life by how he affects those close to him.

I laughed, I cried. and cheered. This was a book for people who know the feeling of loving the land, and the Freedom we should be able to enjoy in this great country. it is about friendship. honor loyalty and forgiveness. it is also about greed, justice and right and wrong. as well as the joy and heartache that life brings .

great story...narrator?
really enjoyed the story and the characters. I felt the struggle of people and regret, of love and loss.
Hap reminded me of people I know hard working, honest and a little crotchety.
It was not as long as other audio books, I appreciated that. I had a little trouble with the narrator, had an accent that didnt match Montana and pronunciation of Helena was off, kind of like fingernails on a chalk board. But the story was good enough to over look it🤷♀️

I tried to give the narrator a chance
I don’t know if this was a low budget book or what, but even the mistakes made while narrating were left in the final cut. Words were pronounced incorrectly and the voices used for characters were … odd. I only stuck with it because my husband read the book on his kindle and thought I would enjoy this story. I feel for the author. His story is good and the narrator made it so dang hard to listen until the end.

Best book I’ve listened to in a long time
Although a tearjerker, this book accurately portrays the nefarious workings of the BLM, as they work to diminish wild horse herds thoughout America to make room for cattle, oil, mineral giants etc. A good read.

Refreshing storyline
The story line was good and refreshing. well written although almost didn't listen to it. the narration wasn't intriguing at all
almost half to listen to. Bland. I ended up continuing in to a new and fresh storyline.
