Publisher's summary

With Randidly Ghosthound's help, humanity has withstood the first impact of the System.

Old institutions are re-erected as the Zones settle into new normalcy, characterized by the enthusiastic application of the scientific method to System principles and the stubborn return of pop culture and consumerism.

Yet these familiar edifices of stability conceal an altogether new breed of monster. One that bears the face of a human but the beating heart of a horror.

Randidly continues to investigate the mysterious Father Foster, the central figure of the rapidly expanding Unity Church. Although the religious organization speaks loudly about its many philanthropic pursuits, a closer inspection reveals a more sinister motivation.

Just when Randidly thinks he has a handle on the situation, old debts come due: he must return to Tellus to assist his spear teacher Shal. What he finds there is a reignited war with an army of replaceable automatons, a weaponized and manipulated version of the Forsaken Hunger Tide. The defensive lines of the Spearman School are in a state of collapse, with the other Schools' curiosity apathetic to the threat.

From the front lines of the bloody conflict, Randidly can witness the real costs of dragging his feet in the face of the Calamities that the System throws against unsuspecting planets…

Fun continuation of the story

Story has multiple side plots and is not just one linear, flat story. Good job.

This was A crazy Twist!

Man oh man reading from book 1 to finishing this one what a crazy ride! This book truly gave me pause because it made me hold my head and say “what just happened!” Now I can’t wait for the next book to drop because i got some questions that hopefully the next book will answer for me!

No his best

Sooo, apparently Randidly is to be a hermit, and his social awkwardness is starting to get annoying. The title for this one appears to actually be Book 6: Randidly Gets Cocky.

Too Many POVs. Book is BEST from Ghosthound perpective

didn't care for extra povs. last book it was the oh so crappy and unbelievable bear girl and bubble boy. now we're dealing with cowardly hero and confused death knight. knock both of those off as they are a net negative.
everything ghosthound did was worth a read. never care for the nerfing so he can have a relationship moment... Shaw's world is great. spend more time there with ghosthound. let earth stuff be discovered when ghosthound comes back. quit beefing up chumps. the powerful should be getting much more powerful. not the weak. I know ghosthounds ether spring caused much of it but come on.... Heather? that's like bear girl being powerful. bad jokes.

Great writing, performance, and characters.

These are always good. One small critique, as is sometimes the case of these books which are a slice of a long cultivation story, this one is missing any large story payoffs and is instead continual challenges and growth. Even the wins that are there happen so quickly and with so little recognition I felt a little unrewarded ( 😀 ). Lastly some interactions with main characters are skipped but they seem to have caught up in the background made feel like I was missing those.

Good addition

I enjoyed the book. The cast of characters continues to grow with the addition of 2 new story lines. I look forward to book7.

My Favorite So Far! 10/10!

Loved it! One of my favorite series thus far. In terms of depth and complexity of storytelling I’m continually amazed by each new installment. It feels like the characters and the world are maturing before my very eyes and I’m all here for it.

You can practically feel the author pushing themselves into previously unexplored directions, trying on storylines like a new pair of gloves, each uniquely disparate in their perspectives and feel. Something I can’t help but admire, from a writing standpoint especially.

Felt like I couldn’t put it down from beginning to end, I somehow always found myself engaged by someone or something that was happening. Narration is top notch as always, it felt like every aspect of the production really leveled up in the interim.

Genuinely outstanding throughout and I am very much looking forward to the next one!

Well written but not a lot actually happens

This might be the weakest one in the series so far, although it’s still very well written and the narrator crushed it as usual. I know that it’s mostly world building and diversifying viewpoints, but I just had a hard time bringing myself to care about the host of side characters doing stuff that has nothing to do with the MC. And then on top of that his story arc doesn’t even really reach a resolution or have a lot going on. This book really felt more like 5.5-6.5 instead of 6

I really love randidly

the narrator is the ghosthound. everything about the series is why it's my second favorite, close second to the cradle series. the characters are all pretty unique, each of the have their own 3d emotions and plots. it's not just the mc and followers, it's more like the mc is the pivot and base of the story while the side characters are driving the story further.
