Publisher's summary

Ollie:

Word of advice: Don't come out to random guys in public restrooms. Even if they're charming and adorably nerdy and offer to help.

My family believes I can't be happy if I'm not out to the world. I have a bitter ex-boyfriend and an unstable NHL career to show for it. A fake boyfriend seems like an easy and quick solution to get my family off my back, and this guy is volunteering. I take him up on it without asking his name.

I really should've asked for his name.

Lennon:

Word of advice: Learn how to introduce yourself properly. In my defense, I don't recognize Ollie Strömberg right away. I cover football, not hockey. I'm not supposed to see him again, and he's never supposed to find out I'm a reporter. That all changes when my editor reassigns me.

It's a lesson I should've learned by now. Nothing's changed since high school. Jocks still hate nerds. But even worse, athletes hate journalists. Especially ones who know their secret.

Contains mature themes.

Opposites attract

I love this crew of friends. I adore Ollie, he is such a sweetheart, his & Lennon’s chemistry is great. I love how they work so hard to stay within technicalities. The friendship between them is sweet, I really like how they stand up for each other, and are totally gone for each other. This was another amazing story.

A hockey player and sports reporter... walk into a bar

Love; Love Love Ollie and Lennon! my favorite of the series, but seriously these two are freaking adorable by themselves AND together. Ollie's family is hilarious and the relationship of these guys with the others (in the series) is great. Found family groups are one of my favorite things in interconnected series and this series is among the best.
Iggy Toma and Alexander Cendese do a fantastic job with the narration as well. They are easy to listen to and do the story justice.

Funny, relaxing and well written

This is one of my favourite books. The story is funny, no matter how many times I listen it I alway laugh out loud which is a bit embarrassing, when I'm doing it in public. :D The characters are funny, sometimes awkward (like in real life) and capable to learn and improve themselves. The narrators were able to catch the character's personality. I can just recommend this book to everyone.

enjoyed it

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

Delightfully entertaining, I think of the series, this one is my favorite. Can't go wrong with the Hocky God and the Nerdy Journalist, this one felt lighter than the others and I enjoyed Ollie and Lennon's dynamic.

Narration comment: Both narrators are terrific on their own and do a great job on their respective characters chapters, but in my opinion dual narration is unnecessary for a M/M book. Either narrator would have been an excellent choice for the entire book, both narrators are excellent voice actors but I didn't like having 2 different voices for each character (it felt like there were 4 main characters instead of 2).

3.5 stars

Pretty good! Not the best, but worth the listen. I really liked both MCs. It was a bit slow at times, but ultimately I liked it.

Fun & funny

Hit my funny bone dead on. I laughed a lot.
Narrators are still excellent. A little surprised no mention was made that hockey players tend to have very well developed backsides but I only mention that because I had to add words.

Sweet

The way Ollie and Lennon originally meet was surprising and a bit strange. Ollie was pretty desperate for a fake boyfriend and picking up the stranger in the bathroom was his sparkling idea. Their reconnection was turbulent, but it all worked out in the end. Sweet with a bit of attitude and lots of cameo's from the previous couples. I'm loving this series!

Wonderfully brought to life

Deke is my favorite so far in this series!! Ollie and Lennon are adorable together and Alexander Cendese and Iggy Toma do a great job once again bringing Eden Finley’s book to life. Makes me so excited to hear the next book in the series and can not wait for Soren’s full story!!! Ahh!

Love Ollie and Lennon

Ollie and Lennon are hilarious and imperfectly perfect together. From the bathroom to the club, these two are proof that no matter how imperfect the circumstances that love can and will prevail.

Of course having characters from previous stories adding their two cents is also hilarious. This world, the characters in it, the families both born and found, are what makes me come back over and over to relive their stories.

Alexander Cendese and Iggy Toma are the dynamic duo when it comes to story narration. It’s always a treat to have them bring stories and characters to life.

So if you haven’t met the guys of the Fake Boyfriend series, start with Fake Out and follow the entire gang. You won’t regret it.

Ending was abrupt

This series has been outstanding. The narration and storyline are good. My only note is that each book tends to end so abruptly the book does not feel complete.
