Publisher's summary

Like the rest of the body, it’s good to exercise the mind. Daily exercise, and meditation, has been shown to increase health, by decreasing stress, which allows the body (and mind) to naturally release endorphins, relax and heighten awareness. In this helpful book, Gabriel Constans leads the listener through fifty-two gentle and encouraging sessions planned to reconnect the body and soul.

It takes courage and bravery, to honestly witness what we discover, inside and out, without turning away or getting caught in the content. It is a brave act to allow oneself to be still, if even for a moment, to look at one’s present experience, face the world and grow stronger.

Personal and Practical for Our Health

This is a book that not only speaks about what meditation and mindfulness is, but explains how to do it; moment to moment, day by day, year after year. Being aware of what is taking place internally and externally, is a brave act. It takes time, persistence and attention.

After practicing mindful meditation for over 50 years, teaching it to others (in schools, individuals, mental health centers, universities, recovery programs and through media), I relayed what I've learned, and am still learning, in two books on mindfulness. One is called "Being Mindful: Exercises for Your Health" and the other is "A B.R.A.V.E. Year: 52 Weeks Being Mindful". Many readers said they would like to also have the later edition made into an audiobook, so they could listen to the sessions and exercises wherever they are and whatever they're doing (or not doing). That is how this version came into being.

To make this a reality, I searched for a narrator who had the time and knowledge of how to translate the book into audio and had a clear, understanding and engaging voice. I was very honored when well known voice actress, Susanna Burney, replied to my invitation. She was the perfect match and to make this available for a wider audience. She not only did the entire book, but practiced the exercises as she did so. Thank you Susanna for your your time, attention and the gift of your voice.
