Publisher's summary

Following her rejection of Mr. Darcy’s proposal at Hunsford, Elizabeth has time for reflection and soon realizes she misjudged Darcy and is in love with him. Before she can convey the sincerity of her affections, her life is thrust into turmoil with the death of Mr. Bennet. Facing a life of reduced circumstances and insecurities, Lizzy pleads with Darcy to give her a second chance to accept his proposal. Instead, he agrees to care for her family, but he no longer wants marriage. Lizzy will be his mistress if she wants his assistance. With few options, and harboring the small hope he might come to love her again, she accepts his scandalous proposition.

This is a sensual Pride and Prejudice variation suitable only for adults who don’t object to intimacies between ODC.

Indeed for mature readers

Now and then I do enjoy a story for a mature audience. I have read it before on kindle. Now I listened to it. Still good.

Despite the happy ending, this book made me sad.

This book made me feel just terribly for Elizabeth. I wanted to see her spirit again, her fight, but she was clearly broken. I don’t find Darcy’s behavior or justification for his actions to be redeemable, in the slightest. At every turn I wanted her to defy him and stand up for herself and his cruel words and behavior. Despite the ending, I’m still left hallow. Darcy was given everything he wanted and more, as he disrespected Lizzy at every turn, and then she happily forgave him, with very little persuasion? I wish she would have had Lizzy leave the letters and then leave him, only for him to have to beg, grovel, and court her properly. That would have helped me in forgiving him, because even at the books conclusion, I HATED Darcy.

The love making was great... If that’s all your here for, have at it!

Scandalous Proposition

I really enjoyed this short story. Mr. Darcy was something else in the beginning because his pride was hurt when Elizabeth turned him down. When she went back to him hoping he would take her back, he came up with a scandalous proposition. I found this story very enjoyable. Gwendolyn Stone did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
