1333. Edward III is at war with Scotland. Nineteen-year-old Sir Harry de Lyon yearns to prove himself and jumps at the chance when a powerful English baron, William Montagu, invites him on a secret mission with a dozen elite knights. They ride north, to a crumbling Scottish keep, capturing a feral, half-starved boy within and putting the other inhabitants to the sword. But nobody knows why the flower of English knighthood snuck over the border to capture a savage, dirty teenage boy. Montagu gives the boy to Harry as his squire, with only two rules.

Big City is supposedly the place where dreams come true. As someone just trying to live my life, I can tell you it’s more like a recurring nightmare where dreams get c*ckblocked at every turn. Especially if you’re a supervillain like me. The irony is that I have zero powers, despite coming from purebred villain stock, but try telling that to Big City’s beloved hero, Captain Masculine.

Pixies are supposed to be petite, beautifully lithe creatures with gossamer wings. Sporting luscious, ombre pink hair and fluttering pink wings, Phil meets two out of three of those criteria. At over six feet tall, no one would dare call Phil petite. As a home-and-hearth pixie, Phil yearns to find a home and family he can bond to. When no one's willing to hire a pixie of his stature, Phil is forced to find work elsewhere. Turns out, pixies make terrible bouncers.

Publisher's summary
“Many a reader longing for a sense of homecoming in the realm of romantic fantasy will find it in A Strange and Stubborn Endurance.”—Jacqueline Carey
"...the heart of the audiobook is Velasin's journey toward recovery and learning to trust his new husband."- AudioFile on A Strange and Stubborn Endurance
"Narrator Vikas Adam expressively reads Vel’s first-person narration, bringing out Vel’s sensitivity and portraying his growing strength and confidence. James Fouhey narrates the part of Cae with a maturity and stolidity that hints at his soldierly background."- Library Journal
“Stolen me? As soon to say a caged bird can be stolen by the sky.”
Velasin vin Aaro never planned to marry at all, let alone a girl from neighboring Tithena. When an ugly confrontation reveals his preference for men, Vel fears he’s ruined the diplomatic union before it can even begin. But while his family is ready to disown him, the Tithenai envoy has a different solution: for Vel to marry his former intended’s brother instead.
Caethari Aeduria always knew he might end up in a political marriage, but his sudden betrothal to a man from Ralia, where such relationships are forbidden, comes as a shock.
With an unknown faction willing to kill to end their new alliance, Vel and Cae have no choice but to trust each other. Survival is one thing, but love—as both will learn—is quite another.
Byzantine politics, lush sexual energy, and a queer love story that is by turns sweet and sultry. Foz Meadows's A Strange and Stubborn Endurance is an exploration of gender, identity, and self-worth. It is an audiobook that will live in your heart long after you finish listening.

Like all Necromancers, Cassius Corbin grew up knowing one irrevocable truth: death comes for us all. It was a lesson he learned well when his mother was murdered by fellow witches. Six years later, he is back in the town of Winslow, Massachusetts, to attend Tennebrose University. But that's not the only reason. While he's home, he intends to track down a magical folio stolen from his family centuries ago. Once he finds it, he'll finally be everything the witches in Winslow fear and the Corbin name will be respected once again—as long as Graeme Hewitt stays out of his way.

Awesome
I was skeptical at first. Extremely surprised. I loved the twists. I believe the main characters was too slow Whitted at times and very insightful at others. They needed more continuity. As a first book in a series I look forward to see the growth of the author and characters. I love that the sex parts was not very explicit and drawn out. As a reader I prefer a little detail of intimacy but a not a how to guide. I definitely am following the author .

Great story, and world building. Great performance from the narrators.
This book is among the best I've read in recent years. I absolutely loved the characters, story, and the plot twist that I didn't see coming at all. Velasin's journey is one that is so admiral, and an interaction. Caethari is sweet and was the complete opposite of what I thought him to be. The one thing I didn't like about his book, is while it is dual-pov, only Velasin's parts are read in the first person. While Cae's is read in the third person. For me this was an odd choice. I was confused when I got to Caethari's part wondering who's POV I was listening to because they kept mentioning Cae in the third person. I had to go and look at the book to discover this as for whatever reason it wasn't clicking with me... lol. I haven't seen a single review mention the fact that one character is in the first person while the other is in the third. And I wish I had known that going into it. So just know when going into this otherwise fantastic book, just know that Velasin's parts are in the First Person, Velasin himself is telling the story, while Caethari's parts are read in the Third Person, so he isn't telling the story, but rather the narrator telling it.

Beautiful story!
Absolutely beautiful story with full world building. I loved this book and the narration was really good. Do check trigger warnings for darker content.

Couldn’t put it down
I couldn’t put this book down and didn’t want to leave the world when I ran out of pages. The narration is excellent, and the story is everything I didn’t know I was looking for in a fantasy world.

Love this!
Story was good! Characters were like able and it was a simple plot that was easy to follow along! Has a lot of action and plot twists!
Narration was very well done and I was captivated the moment it started.

More please!!!!
Oh my word, I loved this book more than I can say. It’s so beautifully, casually, lovingly queer. It’s beautifully written. The narration performance by both narrators is absolute perfection. It’s everything you could want from high fantasy, a la Juliet Marillier, except more queer and more sexy. Content note for rape, trauma, animal death, and murder. The audiobook version opens with a content note that is just right - it tells you what to brace for, and let’s you know that the overall story arc is one of healing and hope, which I appreciated the hell out of. This is how content notes/trigger warnings are supposed to work- they literally helped me be prepared, rather than surprised; and so I was able to enjoy the book, instead of be victimized by it. Thank you so much, Foz Meadows, for a beautiful story, written with so much care and talent, for people like me.
I eagerly await the release of the next book this December!!

Inspirational
Wow. Incredible. The author has taken difficult subjects and woven them beautifully. Treated with care, consideration, and inspiration, we come out feeling refreshed and whole.
Honestly one of my favorites. A story to return to again and again.
Also, we hope to see more of these characters again in future works!!
