Story
If it doesn't kill you, someone infected with it will. Bleeders: A Rising Storm continues the saga of Brody Tate where The Red Death left off. Both he and his trusty companion Jeremiah have survived the Red Flu, yet they aren't the same people they were before the infection. Then the phones stop working. Lee Quartine knows there's no way the pretty girl at the library will even look at him. Especially since he can't open his mouth. He knows he's a hick, but when the power starts going out and the woods are full of strange creatures, it's good to have someone around who can build a fire. And kill.

It has been a year since the initial outbreak of an infection resulting from a failed terrorist attack. No corner of the globe was spared. Millions simply died during the early days of the outbreak, many more survived with most of those survivors turned into permanently brain-damaged feral creatures. All forms of modern society had collapsed, governments no longer functioned, and electric lights and running water become a thing of the past. A handful of survivors with natural immunity to the virus are alone in a world that now belongs to the infected. Hunter Ashcroft, a wounded vet of the ...

The story held me captive!
I have tried to listen to a couple of other books with virtual voice and thought I couldn't get into them because of the voice. I was wrong. They just didn't hold my attention well! This one, though... This book grabbed me and wouldn't let go until I heard the whole thing! The sarcasm is fun and the virtual voice seemed to read that rather well. The main character has a fun personality that made me smile and laugh a few good times. His friends (and non-friends) were entertaining as well. The zombies are good and the twists are interesting too. I found this book to be worth listening to!

Enough Unique Aspects to Make It a Very Good Story.
I liked that there were some unique deviations from other zombie stories. Also the characters are interesting and likable. Even the main character, who is a major ass hole is likable in an odd way. But seriously, the guy is a real jerk and to everyone.

28 days meets covid flue
Reads very much like a short story, which I have mixed feelings about. The robot voice is what it is and would even say it's not horrible but the timing and words delivery makes the listen a bit choppy. I do like the break of a few tropes such how a bite is not an automatic death sentence or a group are biker thugs are not automatically
generic apocalyptic bad guy thugs even if it's just barely. overall the story is okay, have some good moments and some really odd bad decisions which took me out of the story. Don't expect to much but if you enjoy the genre it's a run of the mill zombie story to get you through between credits.
