Publisher's summary

In a universe where assassins make the law, everyone lives in fear—except for Syn. Born of an illicit scandal that once rocked a dynasty, he always knew how to survive on the bloodthirsty streets. But that was then, and the future is now…

Syn was raised as a tech-thief until his livelihood uncovered a truth that could end his life. He tried to destroy the evidence, and has been on the run ever since. Now trained as an assassin, he allows no one to threaten him. Ever. He is the darkness that swallows his enemies whole.

Shahara Dagan is the best bounty hunter in the universe. When Syn comes back on the radar, she's the only one who can bring him to justice. There's only one problem: Syn is a close family friend who's helped out the Dagans countless times. But if she saves him, both of their lives will be on the line. Is Syn's protection worth the risk? The only hope Shahara has is to find the evidence he buried long ago. Now it's kill or be killed—and they, the predators, have just become the hunted…
Born of Fire is the second book in bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon's League series.

Story is good until the end, where it is a bit cheesy. Voice acting amazing.

Definitely kept my attention

I just dragged myself through The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo, that other people raved about, I was bored. The last couple of the Dark Hunters Wolf (Fang) were okay but I haven't used my credit on another of the werewolf books. I am downloading Born in Ice now. I liked "Acheron" a lot. I am enjoying the new series.

Wonderful book!

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to continue reading more of Kenyon's stories. I did think the reader could have changed his voice up more for the characters but overall I highly recommend!!!

im not sure if it's fair to say this series is better than Kenyon's dark hunter series yet. however, if they continue to be this interesting i think they will be.

The League Book 2

Born of Fire, like Born of Defiance (Talyn Batur), is a companion book to Born of Night (Nykyrian) with events taking place within the same time frame. Truthfully, this book should be read AFTER Defiance and Night as the 3rd in the series.

The timelines are a tad off, between Born of Night & Born of Fire, with regards to the end of Born of Night when Syn & Shahara enter the hospital after Nykyrian is critically injured, but other than that, the storyline remains consistent.

I liked Shahara who is the strong heroine. Syn was great too, snarky and sarcastic. The narrator did a good job with most of the character voices, Nykyrian and Vik being the two exceptions. Digger Wade was voiced perfectly.

After Born of Night, Nykyrian should always have a Slavic accent. As he’s an alien hybrid from Andaria, he should never be voiced as an American. Geez! You’d think narrators would try for a bit of continuity in book series.

Great plot with all of the prerequisite twists that make for a good read (or listen) in spite of the rather explicit intimate scenes and crude language. Less would be more , in my opinion.

Addictive

I am addicted to Kenyon’s novels and characters. I love Sin and Shea! Just started the 3rd book in the series. I plan to listen to them all.

a universe brought to life

.....in short... I love everything Sherrilyn Kenyon writes! She truly brings to life characters, places and worlds to such vivid light that I feel that they truly exist somewhere... sometime. Whether it's the Ichidian universe or the world of the Dark Hunters, Were Hunters and Dream Hunters... I feel that if I just look around the next Corner .....Beyond the next Bend.... I might just be lucky enough to walk straight into the world of magic, Adventure, Heroes and heroines... And a place where love and friendship are truly possible and attainable.
