A Complicated Life

I enjoyed book two of the "US Marshal Dirk Sterling" series as much as the first one. US Marshal Dirk Sterling has been given the task for finding and bringing in one of the FBI's most wanted criminals. I liked all the surprising twists and turns as the story progressed. I was happy with the characters' arcs. There were some amusing moments. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Nick Cracknell's narration was entertaining, and his performance added to my enjoyment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Another outstanding Burnett read!

CORRUPTION (US Marshal Dirk Sterling Book 2), my thirteeth read from author Jodi Burnett, who has become one of my favorite authors. Burnette hits it out of the park with this one. This book continues the trend of well-written, enjoyable books, it caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed, 6-hours 59-minutes/298-pages one read! Burnett has created a complete world in which her primary characters interact with an ever-expanding world of repeat characters, some very familiar from her other series. "I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more in this series & more from this author, and look forward to REDEMPTION (US Marshal Dirk Sterling Book 3) when it's published in May of 2024. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Excellent addition to the Dirk Sterling series.

Corruption, the second in the Dirk Sterling series certainly lives up to its billing as a thriller. Not only was this an action-packed story, the character interaction and underlying tension between most of the characters makes it even better. I always try to predict things about Jodi Burnett’s US Marshal stories and most times I’m dead wrong. I was thrilled to be right about one of my predictions this time. What that prediction was and how essential to the story it is will have to remain a secret, to let you in on it might provide a spoiler. And if you are reading this review hopefully you hate spoilers as much as I hate them.
If you enjoy Jodi’s books, grab a copy, and settle in for a very entertaining experience, not only will you encounter thrills, and suspense you may encounter a bit of humor and interesting life dilemmas. My review is based on listening to Nick Cracknel’s excellent narration, he brought each character to life and with his excellent pacing took this story to the next level.
