It is a truth universally acknowledged, that while a man in possession of a fortune may be in want of a wife, there may be ladies who do not reciprocate. Such was the lot of five young women near the town of Meryton. As a child, Elizabeth Bennet's years were split into two distinct segments: her normal life with four rambunctious sisters in Hertfordshire, and summers in Derbyshire on the estate of her father's friend Mr. Darcy. Summertime meant peaks to explore, horses to ride, a library full of books, and friends unlike anyone she knew at home. It was an idyllic escape - until the year that everything came crashing down and summers at Pemberley became no more than a fading memory. I much prefer the sharpest criticism of a single intelligent man to the thoughtless approval of the masses. ELIZABETH BENNET is determined that she will put a stop to her mother’s plans to marry off the eldest Bennet daughter to Mr. Collins, the Longbourn heir, but a man that Mr. Bennet considers an annoying dimwit. Hence, Elizabeth disguises herself as Jane and repeats her vows to the supercilious rector as if she is her sister, thereby voiding the nuptials and saving Jane from a life of drudgery. Yet, even the “best laid plans” can often go awry. FITZWILLIAM DARCY is desperate to ...

Flat storyline
The plot was very thin and uninspiring, and the flat virtual voice did nothing to brighten it up. There was no chemistry, in my opinion, between the characters.

The Darcy’s quick marriage makes for a surprisingly good story.
The book was great listening to it while I was doing chores made it more enjoyable. The voice is not irritating however the few mistakes in the book do come out but didn’t make me feel like the book was ruined.
Lady Catherine is the villain when in actually her daughter Anne is the cause. Darcy and Elizabeth acted with integrity, sometimes a bit too much for my liking.
