Publisher's summary
After an experiment goes horribly wrong, a brilliant but obsessive scientist spends decades perfecting a way to alter history and correct his mistake. His time-tampering efforts draw the attention of an old rival, who likewise seeks to alter time for his own nefarious purposes. For a Better Yesterday takes readers on a history-bending journey across space and time, and culminates in an ending that defies reality itself!

Stranded in the past in 1836, Will Travers woke up in the body of William Barret Travis, commander of the doomed Alamo command, and did what any self-respecting Texan would do when handed a bag of lemons: He made lemonade - defeating Santa Anna's army, twice, forging a lasting peace with the Comanche and rescuing his son from a band of kidnappers. Sixteen years later and just months after he wins the presidency of the Republic of Texas, Will faces the worst crisis of his life. The young republic is being torn apart by civil war. On paper, it appears Will holds all the cards: The rebels are ...

Story
It was not the maiden voyage of the intergalactic prototype space vessel, merely a sixty-day test flight. The ship did not even have a name; she was merely called ONE, a designation without dignity. The skeleton crew participating her last “assignment” – that which would precede the actual mission – were derisively referred to as “crash dummies,” meaning they would be expected to step aside when the actual captain and crew assumed their rightful positions for the multi-year mission. Nothing was expected to go wrong. When the unexpected happened – when the ship lost the ability...

Virtual voice not quite there, story didnt hook me
Though virtual voice is much better than I was expecting, it's still not quite there. After a few hours it got very monotonous. When two male characters were conversing, I couldn't distinguish between the two. Story isn't very good either, the main character is supposed to be a super-genius but made stupid decisions. I only made it about 3 hours into the book, between the bad story and dull narration, could not continue.
Edit: Just noticed that this author released 18 books all within a few days. Now I'm wondering if the whole book is AI generated.
