Publisher's summary

The Jury Did its Job...and Everyone Else's Job, too.

What happens when a new jury is made up of jaded members? Some of them have sat on juries where the bailiff or a policeman stuck his head in the door and gave them information that was barred in court. Or maybe the government uses a fake tape recording to convict someone, and the jury decides to get hold of the original tape and see what's changed. Or maybe a judge has agreed to help the government because he's under audit by the IRS and facing criminal tax charges. All of these things can and do happen.

Pity the poor defense attorney being fed pilfered evidence by the jury. He knows the tape-recorded statement is the original, AND he knows it's stolen--does he go ahead and use it? Or does he report the theft to the court or to the police? And on it goes throughout the trial of Lisa Marie Dearing, accused of shooting the man who told her he was single, got her pregnant, then ran home to his wife and kids. No one wants to see that lady go to jail for life. Thaddeus Murfee is on her case and doing everything he can to keep her out of prison. And the jury is feeding him evidence and exhibits they are getting from—you’ll want to read about this jury for yourself, unlike any other!

Grab this legal thriller and get ready to read without putting it down. Written by the master of legal thrillers, John Ellsworth.

Virtual voice ruined it

The story was good and the only reason I finished it. The virtual voice has a lot to be desired. mis pronunciation being the most obvious, the hesitation between "Chapter and next number" was irritating. A saving grace was that Marcell smoked OpusX.

AI Narrator Ruin Story

Narrator made it hard to follow the story from one character to another or the change from one scenario to the next. Had to go back and re-listen to understand what was going on in the story. The story could have been a 5 if narrator was able to change nuance of character or action.

Computer narration was poor

I like this series. Not always realistic, but fun. I was disappointed in the computer narration though. Lots of errors

ai is not easy to follow

the narration with ai is distracting to say the least and it is flat and hard to follow. I don't know if the story was good or not because it was too hard to follow

AI ruins it

The story line was decent but the lack of emotion in the AI voice really took away from the enjoyment of it. I know the mispronunciations will diminish with time.

All around no good

The deep storyline was good. The writing, not good. The voice for the audiobook, though pleasant to listen to was the worst reading ever.

Unique concept

I found many awkward stope in speech jarring. Also, the mispronunciation of certain words repeatedly was disturbing. Bad form.
