Highland Romance filled with deception

Conan and Una have found true love, but it seems that the universe and friends and enemies both conspire against them to keep them apart. There was a lot of suspense and subterfuge going on and it was hard to figure out who the good guys and the bad guys were. A good romance with enough mystery and suspense to keep it very interesting.

Was it to be another futile death, for clans sake?

A gentle nurtured love kindled when they were young, growing as they matured. He did not rush her, although his animal lust would have wanted to.
However, clan laws were clan laws, and they were supposed to abide by them, even when they saw the fertility of the deaths.
He had learnt strategy, and when needed, he used it.
Yes good story, worth listening to.

A Highland Romeo and Juliet Story. Conan and Una meet when very young at a Clan gathering before their relationship grows closer over time, but while their clans diverge. An interesting Highland take on Romeo and Juliet...young love facing family feuds.

Conan and Una's love grew from a childhood friendship when their clans met on the battlefield in friendly competition. As time progressed, the clans became unfriendly, but it did not affect the young couple. They only grew closer, convinced their clans were in danger from outside forces hellbent on doing harm to Scotland. Clandestine meetings under the moonlight put them in a tricky situation. An enemy who would have her for his own ends also poses a threat. A hard won HEA to be sure. A great short story.

Great Story!

I enjoyed listening to this book very much. The intriguing and suspenseful plot line kept me guessing as to what would happen next. Unfortunately, the narrator’s narration was so choppy that it was truly distracting. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

No Scottish Accent?

Why bother? Who listens to a highlaner story to hear an American voice? I don’t and that is why I gave up on this one!

The narrator also sounded like he was reading. Pauses in places there shouldn’t be and no connection with the characters.
