Publisher's summary

Redemption’s Edge, book one of the Redemption Mountain historical western romance series

Dax Pelletier is ready to start a new life, far away from the one he left behind in Savannah following the South’s devastating defeat in the Civil War. The ex-Confederate general wants nothing more to do with commanding men and confronting the tough truths of leadership.

Rachel Davenport possesses skills unlike those of her Boston socialite peers - skills acquired while working as a nurse in field hospitals during the Civil War. Eschewing her northeastern suitors and forever changed by the violence and death she’s seen, Rachel decides to accept her uncle’s invitation to assist him at his clinic in the wild frontier of Montana.

Now a Texas Ranger, a promise made to a friend takes Dax and his brother, Luke, to the untamed territory of Montana. He’ll fulfill his oath and return to Austin.

The small town of Splendor is exactly what Rachel needs after life in a large city. She’s grown to love the people as well as the majestic beauty of the sprawling frontier wilderness.

Great Western Romance with a Little Mystery too.

I just started this series. I am actually on second book now but came back to add review.
Redemption Mountain is an entertaining western series about a group of people fleeing memories of the Civil War by moving to Mountana. They are overcoming different obstacles, finding love, and solving mysteries that threaten their new town. Little cursing. No graphic sex. Just good people with a good story.

Great listen

Good western with mix of romance, mystery and gunfire. Perfect listen while doing housework, spreadsheets or long drive to office.

No vulgar or inappropriate situations… so good for all ages if listening in the car with the family

Western Excellents

Loved this story from start to finish. The characters were believable and the story flowed well. There were times I wanted to shake the characters but all turned out well in the end. The story wrapped up well but there was still a bit of a cliffhanger for the next book. Can't wait!

Mediocre Western HEA

This review is after listening to 9 books in the series. The Narrator is okay though he did mispronounce a few old fashion names that the author used in her books. The books are written on a formula with at least two sets of villains and the heroes and the heroine with the same personalities. None of the characters are different. Oh they have different jobs and various backstories but they are all the same personality. The plots do not seem to be based on historical characters or historical events of Montana history following the post-Civil war period. Except for a Pinkerton reference there isn't a real-life person mentioned. The north and south post-civil war is talked about ad nauseum as an issue without making it an issue because the issue goes poof when someone brings it up. The town is some Nirvana where Northerners marry Southerns without any struggles very unrealistic. The plots are action pack and that is a strength for this HEA writer. There are some overlaps between books but no clip hanger. I was actually looking for a western and this really isn't a western.
