How do you know if you're doing this parenting thing right?

When your preschooler throws a tantrum, when your tween receives a crushing text message from her friend, when your teenager starts to act out in rebellion, what do you do? You worry your reaction is just going to make everything worse and drive a wedge between you and your child. And then your mother will call to say, "I told you so".

Typical parenting advice doesn't help, either. Your child's behavior is still a problem, and you are still sinking in self-doubt. But you are not alone, and there is a way for you to rebuild a healthy relationship with your child.

In this audiobook, you will:

  • Learn how to communicate with your child, in a way you both feel understood,
  • Manage behaviors so that both of you feel respected,
  • Create your Unique Parenting Manual so that you and your child can grow together, rather than apart,
  • Finally feel confident in your ability to raise a whole, healthy child.

With judgemental stares, off-hand comments, and outright intervention, our society shames parents, who are simply trying their best to raise children. In bearing that burden, parents pass the shame on to their own children. It's time to stop shaming each other. As you find your own parenting voice in the pages of this audiobook, let's work together to #endparentshaming and to turn to each other for support in this difficult journey of raising beautiful, complicated children.

Will change you parenting and how you see others

I can relate to a lot of the stories in this book on my upbringing. I taking all this and running with it. Clear and concise. I often think I come off hard on teachers, because I'm clear on my child’s needs. I really love this book. It settled my heart. This should be a most read for all families.

Finally! From dysfunction to joy

This is a powerful and authentic read that addresses the roots of parenting dysfunction and provides avenues to parenting bliss. very adept and practical discussions that are not a one-size-fits-all that gives you the tools to discover and recognize your own needs and desires and the tools to achieve them. Very respectful of both parents and children in the process of being human. I love the quotes and references to other works on shame. . I also see a real powerful connection between shame and trauma work, another root-based approach to addressing parental dysfunction and finding ways to enter a peaceful and calm and joyful realm of adults hood and Parenthood. However you don't need to consciously understand trauma or be involved in trauma work to benefit from the tools of shame proof parenting. Eell done.

Incredible book... I have read tons of parenting books and this is my favorite hands down - MUST READ

I love reading and parenting books are something I’ve often read... always trying to be the perfect parent and always feeling I didn’t measure up

This book takes a whole new approach. It really does deliver what it talks about on the cover. The realization that we shame parents so much in our culture and that this is such a multi dimensional role we play as parents; how she empathizes and breaks it down is incredible. I’m only a couple of hours in and already finding myself more empathic with myself and my kids and more connected, and able to hear the voice of my internal best self; the voice helping me embrace my imperfection and adore this journey; appreciating my kids and the journey for what it is. Thank you so much for this resource. I’ll be sharing this. I am not affiliated with the author and I am so glad I went for it on this one. Truly, if you’re really feeling stuck and always feeling like you’re failing, or like somethings missing... you will find a breath of fresh air here, along with practical tips and mindset shifts to love the journey you’re on quickly without the gimmicks!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I also love her voice. It’s real and clear and easy to understand and the book well delivered.
