Adult Lord of The Flies

What an interesting and well executed idea this story was! I don’t necessarily feel that all of the characters were developed. The main character was developed the most which makes sense for the story. I think some people could potentially find this story boring because there isn’t a whole lot of action, but I enjoy stories about survival and all of the little mundane tasks that they do throughout their day.

Wish it would never end

One of those books you can’t put down. Can’t stop thinking about. Wish it would never end!

Great plot!

The storyline keeps you turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down!
I liked the different characters, although Gill could have been fleshed out a bit more, but the mob mentality was such that it spoke volumes about the group of tormentors!
Great book!

Sad but engaging

Not uplifting. Sad but engaging. Thrilling but not great writing. Excellent narration. Will make a great movie.

I feel so lost

Ten Stars. This book was extremely stressful, and harrowing. It broke me repeatedly. I was desperate for it to end and to never end at the same time.

I haven’t been so emotionally invested in a story in a long time. It is a good thing that we learn from the very beginning that Maddy survives (from page 1) because I don’t know if I could have continued the story not knowing. I might have fallen apart from the worrying.

This book made me angry. I was right there with her the whole time. All the characters were so well fleshed out. If you aren’t sure about picking this one up let me stop you right there. It is absolutely worth the journey. Stop reading reviews and READ THIS BOOK

Very exciting

Enjoyed the story and the narrator. Lots of twists and turns. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a stranded on the island theme.

Surprising

A thoughtful thriller. Even though the circumstances were intense they weren’t utterly implausible like so many of this genre.

The survival of the underdog.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love good survival tale, human against mother nature. This tale has the added tale of surviving against human cruelty as well. I can't wait to read another Sara Goodwin book.

Couldn't stop listening!

Loved this audiobook! Soothing voice and great story! I'm actually listening to it again!

Wild!

This book had a slow start and then wham, anger, rage, fear and disgust are all emotions you will feel as you empathize with the main character. Rarely have I despised other characters like I did in this book, I couldn’t stop listening and finished in 3 days. I will not share any spoilers in my review but you never know the true morals of those around you and how they might behave with their backs against a wall, especially if they are a sociopath. This book did a fantastic job of stripping away the social niceties, exposing human nature and greed at its most primitive stage with the art of manipulation mixed in. The ending was nicely done, with twists I didn’t see coming but Darwinism at its finest. Well done!
