MY SHIP WAS DESTROYED

Walking toward the nearest town, I see bonfires and hear humans singing. I wonder momentarily if I’ve time traveled into the past. Thankfully my hood covers my face, which is the tell-tale sign I’m not human. But I’ll have to find someone to help me to contact the Alliance Force. They don’t even know I’m on Earth. My mission was so secret that no one but the High Council knew.

I look around at the human faces. Who is the most trustworthy and open-minded among these humans? Then I see her illuminated by a light above her. The goddesses are guiding me to whom I must trust, and it doesn't hurt that she's an adorable human. I make my way through the crowd straight toward her.

BUT ADORABLE LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING. WILL SHE HELP ME OR BETRAY ME?

The Alliance Holiday Series is set in the present day. However, aliens, especially the Alliance fleet, play an important role in humanity’s interactions in the galaxy (even if most humans are unaware). Enter this alien world and follow these human women to the Alliance Empire, a matriarchal society where women have always ruled, but Alliance men have always dominated their hearts. There are few heroes or women being rescued. Instead, listeners are led through complex traditions of an alien culture: mazes of alien courting rituals, obedience to strict religious codes, and often uncomfortable compromises, all while chasing romance and marriage. Every door is open in the Holiday Alliance Series.

Each book is standalone but can be traced back to something the women in House Human discovered about the Alliance’s relationship with Earth 600 years later in the Renascence Alliance Series. An overarching story is intertwined throughout the series, but it is not necessary to listen to the books chronologically to enjoy the romance of each individual book.

Great story and amazing performance

The story line was great. This book was a fun listen about a fake marriage turned to lovers. There were definitely some parts that brought me to tears and some that made me LOL.

Love finds a way.

The fifth story in the Alliance Holiday, the story is told in a two point of view setting. Axl has been sent on a secret mission by his empress but he ends up crashing on Earth. where he seeks aid from Georgiana. The story is another great addition to this series, that ends with a happy ending. The Empress was really one jealous, nasty woman and his Mother and sister also where just as nasty. I liked the cover. I enjoyed listening to Jill Smith and Jack Calihan narrate this story.

I Enjoyed It

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun story. I love the fake relationship/marriage trope and have read quite a number of them. This was my first with an alien needing a human woman to pretend to be his wife so that he can get back to his planet, and a woman who thinks she is playing a role in some game in order to win a lot of money. (Though he has told her repeatedly it's not a game and he would give her the money to successfully convince the Alliance they are married). I liked both Axl and Georgiana. A fun adventure.

Jill Smith and Jack Calihan did a great job bringing these characters to life. I especially liked Jill's voice.

No Really, I'm An Alien

Gleeful Goblin Review: This is a really interesting fake relationship/fake marriage story within The Alliance universe. While I liked both of the characters for the most part I really struggled with how long and devoted Georgianna is in thinking that "this is all just a game" despite having EVERYTHING including a näked in the shower with her Axl explicitly telling her "This isn't a game, I'm really an alien." That was a frustration and a sticking point for me honestly but was the only thing that took my rating down. Overall, this is a very good sci-fi romance/political adventure and the characters do have an eventual HEA. 4/5 Stars.

Wonderful!

I previously reviewed the e-book of The Alien I Fell in Love with on Walpurgis Night, and found the audio version as narrated by the voice talents of Jill Smith and Jack Calihan, the dynamic duo of audio renditions providing a seamless compliment to the reading additions.
Alliance operative Axl has been sent on a secret mission by his empress and while in pursuit of his quarry crashes on Earth.
With no way to contact the Alliance he needs help, and human Georgina attending a Walpurgis night celebration, (a Swedish tradition that welcomes spring) becomes his savior in many ways.
Filled with intrigue, adventure, cultural differences and romance, I enjoyed listening to this fifth book of the series, and look forward to future stories.
