Publisher's summary

It was the deal of the decade, if not the century. A small, insignificant company on the edge of bankruptcy had discovered an alchemist's dream; a miraculous polymer, that when coated on any vehicle, was the equivalent of 30 inches of steel. With bloody conflicts surging in Iraq and Afghanistan, the polymer promises to save thousands of lives and change the course of both wars.

Jack Wiley, a successful Wall Street banker, believes he has a found a dream come true when he mysteriously learns of this miraculous polymer. His plan: enlist the help of the Capitol Group, one of the country's largest and most powerful corporations in a quick, bloodless takeover of the small company that developed the polymer. It seems like a partnership made in heaven...until the Pentagon's investigative service begins nosing around, and the deal turns into a nightmare.

Now, Jack's back is up against the wall and he and the Capitol Group find themselves embroiled in the greatest scandal the government and corporate America have ever seen.

Critic reviews

"Haig keeps the suspense boiling until the final twists as he reveals why and how everything unravels. Readers will be pleased by an ending that suggests clever Jack Wiley will return." ( Publishers Weekly)

Thoroughly entertained.

This is the first book I have listened from Brian Haig and I wasn't disappointed. I extremely enjoyed this book. I will definitely read other Brian Haig’s books. I love the way the main character was developed. It keeps you on the edge until the end.

Absolutely great! A real car sitter!!

Hard to get out of my car in the driveway I was so riveted. Scott Brick is his usually fantastic but the story and the suspense and even a surprise ending was just great. First book of his I have read but he has me as a fan!!

5 STARS!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this title. The writing and narration was spot on!! After many fantasy books, it is quite refreshing to listen to a well planned, logical, and scheming take down of both big corporate and government. Well Done!! Both author and narrator are on my list for continued listening pleasure.

Thrill Ride

From page one to conclusion it was a fast paced and intriguing read with many twists and turns to keep you guessing. Highly recommend… but only if you have the time… it’s extremely hard to put down until you finish.

Disappointing!

All the characters were two-dimensional. Hyperbole piled on hyperbole spoiled the narrative. I enjoyed Haig’s earlier books but he seems to have run out of good ideas. Similarly, Scott Brick’s sarcastic tone made the story sound like one long sneer.

bad guys in the Capitol get what they deserve

This is the perfect novel for people fed up with sleaze in Washington. Enjoyable and meaningful.

Should be made into a movie!

This is an awesome thriller - full of twists and intrigue. I couldn't "put it down"! It would make a great movie. Took a bit to get used to the narrator's voice, but the story definitely outweighed that. I may actually listen to it again, which is somthing I rarely do.

Kept my interest

Would you consider the audio edition of The Capitol Game to be better than the print version?

Did not read printed version.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He is one of my favorite narrators.

Any additional comments?

This is a book that I will definitely want to listen to again. It kept my interest from the very beginning to the very end.
