Well-written, self-aware, witty, captivating...
This book is fire. I just finished it and have so many thoughts. First of all, I love that it was written by a brilliant lawyer mother (+of color🙌❤). Second, I love that she acknowledges and emphasizes in so many ways the way our society undervalues things that women love. Third, the protagonist is so relatable. Fourth, the book is delicious. The relationship/love story/sex feels decadent. Fifth, Robinne Lee narrates the book and is SO SO GOOD. I need more.
For anyone looking for a good, light, well written, self-aware, witty, captivating, romance with depth, add this to your list. Audible is great, too - perfectly read by the author/actress herself.

Powerful and beautiful love story.
This story took me by surprise. What I initially thought sounded like a “fun story idea” ended up being an engrossing, tender and tragic story of true love. It was exciting and raw and powerful and this was all due to the talent of the author in telling the story of this unlikely pair. The author’s performance on the narration was incredible. Her ability to produce multiple accents, alternate between them fluently and speak so authentically in different languages added to the enjoyment of the story. This was a delight to listen to and hard to hear come to an end. Hoping for a sequel/continuation of this story simply out of my selfish need to continue being a part of these characters lives.

Insightful and Liberating piece of ART
I’m a woman over a certain age so I knew how this story ended before I finished the first chapter.
The whole May-December Romance Trope usually hits me with the “ick-factor”, but Robinne Lee serves up food for thought in this stunning piece of writing (no cheese) and I ate it up. Could not put it down.
“-Lest anyone think we women of a certain age are no longer sexually viable-“
Tuh- think again.
“We have this problem in our culture. We take art that appeals to women—film, books, music—and we undervalue it. We assume it can’t be high art. —and so we undervalue them as well. We wrap it up in a pretty pink package and resist calling it art.”

I will start by saying I never write reviews but this, this book ripped my heart out. The author did such a great job narrating that you felt every emotion of the characters. I literally just finished it and I’m in shock and in tears. Please please say there is a second book coming!

Heartbroken
The old men keep there girls until they die or the girls grow up and leave. Shouldnt be any different for woman.
