Cynthia Treadwell is drawn into another murder investigation but this time, she becomes the target. Miss Treadwell meets a man who is shrouded, not only in clothing, but also in mystery. She joins him on a park bench where he warns her that her life is in danger. He identifies himself as Benjamin Carter. His story takes her back twenty-five years to the murder of his aunt where two teenagers were falsely accused of the crime. Miss Treadwell knew the young men were innocent but was helpless to prove it. Benjamin Carter knows who murdered his aunt because he hired Charlie, a hitman, to kill her. With only a short time to live, Carter tests Cynthia Treadwell's courage and resolve to bring Charlie to justice.
Charlie receives an anonymous phone call warning him that Benjamin Carter is about to reveal the truth to the police. He returns to Bedford to eliminate Benjamin Carter who is determined to rob him of his freedom. Within days, he realizes Carter is not his only threat. He must also deal with Cynthia Treadwell who is equally determined to see justice served. He devises a diabolical plan to "kill two birds with one stone". After Charlie liquidates Carter, it becomes a test of wits between Cynthia Treadwell and a seasoned hitman. In The Redemption of the Dead, she becomes the prey he never saw coming. The story will keep you riveted until the very end.
