Wonderful reader as usual

The story has many of the elements that Wentworth fans are familiar with – the family drama, the imperious woman , in the slightly batty relative, jealousy, envy, glimpses from outside the house the footprints in the mud sightings across the line of vision a death in shallow water, a blow up on the back, The young lovers the incredibly cute child, all of these elements are of course familiar and wonderfully handled. Wentworths charming style never fails, her dialogue is wonderful as usual & the reading by Diana Bishop is beyond good. The weakness of the book is simply the story itself which is not riveting and seems somewhat derivative of Wentworths earlier works I suppose but despite this routine nature of the narrative and the plot it's fine, I'm not complaining because really anything Wentworth does is The work of a writer who is endlessly rewarding on so many levels and I would have to say so much underrated in comparison to her much lauded contemporaries
