Publisher's summary

While trying to balance her family bakery, losing her mother, and learning a few secrets is a lot for anyone, Amara was walking with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Trying to gain control of her life again seemed impossible, but falling in love with her best friend might be what the doctor ordered.

Knowing what it's like to lose his parents and feel lost, Khalil promises Amara to stay by her side and help her through the pain. What he wasn't expecting was his feelings for her to grow stronger as well as their bond!

They say once one door closes, another opens, and Amara and Khalil are about to find out just how right that is.

Alright

If you are into hearing about sadness and grief then this book is for you. It was on the boring side for me and it was a struggle to finish it. Prefer more uplifting stories. Narrators were good.

Great love story

I love her books. This one had a little less drama which was cool. It’s nice just to read a simple love story from time to time.

Short but Oh So Sweet

Very inspirational to know there’s love after death of a loved one. We must celebrate the person not morn their passing because memories never die they live on in the living.

Loved it

This author gives great black love stories. And when I tell you the narrator Wesleigh Shioban is a never miss. You are guaranteed to feel whatever her voice delivers.

Cute story...

Quick little storyline. Ending seemed a little rushed but it is a shorter books so maybe that's why. Narration was good. No complaints.

Emotional and Sweet

This is my first book by Tay Mo’nae. This touching yet emotional story demonstrates how two people dealt with grief was very sweet! Although their approaches were different when grieving the loss of their loved ones, they were able to provide support and solace in each other during stressful circumstances with honesty, compassion and understanding. The message to me stressed that if you’re able to work through the storms that life brings your way, you can do anything together!! I loved the resilience of both the hero and heroine. Great message! Wesleigh Siobhan and Leon Nixon’s performance were stellar!! I felt a wide range of emotions throughout the storyline!! I look forward to more from this author!
