Publisher's summary

Lucy Drake and Brendan Caine have only one thing in common… And it's likely to tear them apart. Because it was Brendan's late wife, Jessie - and Lucy's best friend - who'd brought them together in the first place. And since Jessie's passing, Brendan's been distracted by his two little ones… and the memory of an explosive kiss with Lucy years before his marriage. Still, he'll steer clear of her. She's always been trouble with a capital T. Lucy couldn't wait to shed her small-town roots for the big city. But now that she's back in Hope's Crossing to take care of the Queen Anne home her late aunt has left her, she figures seeing Brendan Caine again is no big deal. After all, she'd managed to resist the handsome fire chief once before, but clearly the embers of their attraction are still smoldering…

Beautiful!

What a terrific listen! I really could relate to the main characters, and I liked how the chapters switched points of view. There was also a lot of good natured sarcasm which made it feel real. Who is the narrator? The characters were REALLY great. I especially liked the Irish father. And the 5 and 7 year old kids!? SO CUTE. I teared up more than once! And the teenager, Crystal!? Yeah, I enjoyed this one, and I would recommend it!!!!

It was a slow, romantic burn. Very real and family oriented. A breath of fresh air for those of us with children too....

Surprisingly good

So . . . my wife made me listen to this with her on a long road trip, and I actually grew to like it, so I'm writing this review - also, because she's making me do it. I think the narrator was excellent. I REALLY liked the way she did the voices of the kids. Really believable. This isn't my genre of choice, but it was good. There. I said it. Thumbs up!

Great clean romance

I am not usually a fan of contemporary romance but I loved this book. It is a clean romance with a beautiful love story between a widower and a high power exec who was fired and went back to the one place that she felt safe in.. The kids were a lot of fun .. The narrator just simply outstanding ..

Talented Narrator

This was a really fun listen. I LOVED all of the voices--especially the teenager and the 2 young kids. It was a sexy escape! The love between the two protagonists definitely grows and is paramount, but I also really enjoyed the other relationships in the book that evolved as well. Thayne really got at the heart of what it means to be a loving parent.

Wild Iris Ridge

Listening to Wild Iris Ridge was a delight! Dermot’s Irish Brogue, Krystal’s snarky remarks, and Carter’s sweet lisp are among many of the Narrator’s techniques that made listening to this warm romantic novel fun and engaging. Well done, Ms. Cobb!
