  • EP 71- Amy Stewman, Founder, Women of Apex: Uniting Women Through Purpose
    Sep 4 2023

Last year, Amy Stewman hosted Women of Apex in Dallas to empower women to reach their highest potential. She encourages women to come together, build each other up, and focus on their values.

Amy emphasizes that men and women should spend time together to better understand each other and that parents should be good examples for their kids by leading by example and giving them autonomy to make decisions.

Amy's event provides a platform for women to become the best versions of themselves and tickets can be purchased at WomenofApex.com, with a free custom engraved gift and portrait session with the photographer Maddie May included.

    Key Lessons
    1. Men and women should spend time together to better understand each other.
    2. Parents should be a good example for their kids by leading by example and giving them autonomy to make decisions.
    3. This year's Women of Apex will be held in Miami, Florida

The main objective of this event was to help women find their true identity and purpose beyond labels and titles. The event is to encourage women to come together and build each other up, to focus on their value, and offer support, so they can reach their highest potential. Women need a platform to become the best versions of themselves

The event provided a space for women of different backgrounds to come together and realize their shared commonalities. Women are wired with a unique ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Women are adaptive and more empathetic, allowing them to take a step back and handle obstacles and relationships better

Ego often triggers negative reactions, but understanding why and asking why helps to create an introspective way of thinking to learn from. Men and women need to spend time together to better understand each other. As a single mom, the speaker experienced the difficulty of juggling a successful career and parenting

She found that while her male colleagues couldn't understand the burden of being a mom, she had to learn to navigate it. She found that the best way to manage it was to expect and accept the chaos that came with it. Parents should ask their kids what they want to do and give them autonomy to make decisions

This teaches them how to make decisions and voice their needs, which is essential for later life. Avoiding the urge to control everything helps kids learn to make their own decisions. Parents should be a good example for their children by leading by example, instead of just telling them what to do

Kids will follow their parents' lead, so it's important to demonstrate the behaviors and values you want your kids to have. Parents need to be intentional with their actions so children can learn from them. Having four kids has taught the speaker to stop expecting perfection, set expectations, and hold their children accountable in order to reach their goals amidst the chaos
