Shasta Gibson Smith is a spicy Texan who loves teaching and tacos. She is a District Teacher of the Year and winner of the McArthur Award for Teaching Excellence. She has presented at the Oklahoma Reading Association Conference, Sumter E3 Conference, and MSU Bilingual TAIR Conference. She has 7 years of teaching experience. Currently, she teaches 4th and 5th grade math in South Carolina. When she is not teaching, she enjoys being a dog mom to Stella, running, and trying to beat her husband in ping pong (she beat him once and hasn't played him since).
