Life changing book!
Wow, let's just say I haven't been this excited to truly allow myself to be happy with a partner in a very long time! This audio brings fourth clarity, confidence and peace of mind within oneself. A Must for Adoptive Parents!
This is the best book I know of for adoptive parents. This is the thing that is helping my husband and I turn around the relationship with our adoptive son. Thank you!
Adopted children have a rough adjustment to make, particularly in the world of the internet. It's important to help your child understand that you are a caring, trustworthy, permanent part of your life, but it's more important that they FEEL it! This book will help you make that connection for a healthy future. Listen and learn!
It's also the right book to help your kids when they move into their dating years. To understand how attachments and relationships form and develop, and what creates strength, has been invaluable for us. Our kids will be feeling the benefit of our reading this book for the rest of our lives. Thank you, Joyce T!

Very Helpful
This is a great book that has opened my eyes. I wish I had read this book a long time and understood attachment style. This book has great techniques to use as coping strategies.Especially learning how to meet halfway without losing self. I enjoyed the exercises as well.

A Revealing Gut Punch!
I wish I had, had this book to read in my early teens and 20s! As someone who grew up without the words call these dysfunctional attachment styles, or the tools to deal with them, this book was eye opening. If you come from a dysfunctional family and wish to break the cycle with your own, I highly recommend this book!

Important information to learn about yourself
As someone who was thought to have an anxious-avoidant attachment, this book really cemented the psychological aspects of this anxiety disorder and made me realize things I need to work on. This book was profound in offering guidance on how to overcome and become a better version of yourself.

This audiobook makes you think
I am an avoidance type. I know where my issues stem from, and they do have a negative effect on my relationship. I have a hard time with intimacy, and sometimes things I say are abrasive, but I don't know until after I've already hurt my partner's feelings, and when that happens, instead of him telling me that it was something about how he responded, he just walks away, which does not help me understand. Honestly, I thought I would have to resort to therapy, but some of the recommendations for healing and change seem easy enough for me to put into practice before going that route.
I used to journal a lot, but because of an invasion of privacy, I stopped. Recently, I wrote 4 pages of how I was feeling that day and threw them into the fireplace. I felt better afterward, so I think going back to journaling, as the audiobook recommends, would do me justice.
If it doesn't work, I'll try another method, but this audiobook has offered me a place to start. So, if you are looking for a way of understanding your relationship type and looking for a place to start, I would recommend listening to this book. It helps you identify which relationship type you are and breaks each one down into 2 chapters making it easy to locate information on how you and your partner can heal.
