It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Stephen Fry gives another outstanding performance!
This is my least favorite of the seven books but it is necessary and a reread of this series would be so incomplete without this book! As for the narrator, Stephen Fry continues to delight! I can’t wait to get the rest of the books!

The Only Way to Listen to Harry Potter!
Stephen Fry’s voice is like butter. Alan Dale’s narration is fine, but nothing compares with Fry’s classic performance of these classic books. I’m so glad Audible has finally made them available!

Rowling and Fry
Rowling and Fry are a great, great combination. I've been wanting to listen to Fry's reading performance since I head he was the performer for the British market. This is no disappointment. It is as good as I expected. It is good, good!
