A breath of fresh air
This story takes a more colorful and dramatic approach to Sanderson’s usual style, and expands on it in a playful way through the eyes of the Cosmere’s favorite storyteller.
Definitely made me laugh uproariously on multiple occasions throughout the story, which earned me many stares as I was in a public location for most of my listening experience.

I really liked this, but…
I’m struggling to be interested in the greater cosmere stuff. I’m sure super Sanderson fans really like it, but almost all the mystery and wonder is taken away when a fifth of the main cast are recurring immortal characters from another world.
It feels more and more so that all the normal people are stuck playing to the whims of unsympathetic immortals trying to one up each other in increasingly petty ways.
It’s very hard to see this as Tress’s story when it’s just her being caught up in a game between Hoid and the villain of this book.
