Publisher's summary

Number one New York Times best seller

You deserve to stop suffering because of what other people have done to you.

Have you ever felt stuck in a cycle of unresolved pain, playing offenses over and over in your mind? You know you can't go on living like this, but you don't know what to do next. Lysa TerKeurst has wrestled through this journey. But in surprising ways, she’s discovered how to let go of bound-up resentment and overcome the resistance to forgiving people who aren’t willing to make things right.

With deep empathy, therapeutic insight, and rich Bible teaching coming out of more than 1,000 hours of theological study, Lysa will help you:

  • Learn how to move on when the other person refuses to change and never says they're sorry.
  • Walk through a step-by-step process to free yourself from the hurt of your past and feel less offended today.
  • Discover what the Bible really says about forgiveness and the peace that comes from living it out right now.
  • Identify what's stealing trust and vulnerability from your relationships so you can believe there is still good ahead.
  • Disempower the triggers hijacking your emotions by embracing the two necessary parts

forgiveness

Hearing these words and putting my situation into play, I knew I needed to forgive. I played this in the car and someone riding with me started listening. They started to ask questions about forgiveness and if they needed to forgive. This book of conversation and I enjoyed the read.

Relatable

It was so good! I’m going to listen to it again so I don’t miss anything. Very relatable in a lot of ways and this is the first book I read on this topic. I’m on a healing journey and I’ve been stuck at forgiveness for a while now. Not anymore I’m seeing things in a different perspective

Profound and Informative. An absolute reread

I love the Author's Transparency a d Use of self accompanied with Biblical references. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who does not have a clear understanding about Forgiveness while not being able to Forget your Hurts.

Powerful

This is a practical guide. I’ve heard for years to forgive and even general very high level statements of just turn it over to God. This book walks you thru it and honestly addresses the pitfalls and setbacks you encounter. It is the first time in years that I have felt the freedom of forgiveness as I walk thru the process.

What a blessed & wonderful author!

By reading, and listening, to Lysa I've gotten to know her loving, and very sweet personality. She has been through many of life's difficult trials. Through them all, and with her commitment & surrender to Jesus, continues to be filled with the love, and comfort of the Holy Spirit.
I highly recommend this book, as well as others that Lysa has written. She gently helps guide you forward with empathy and soft humor, while sharing with you her story and experiences. She will help you find that, though it is far from easy, it is very possible to get out of your pain find lasting Peace.
I've read/listened through this book once, and now I've started through it again. Forgiveness is a difficult, and (I believe) long battle to get through. Lysa has been very helpful through my 1st read, and I believe that, as I continue to soak & pray with Jesus through Lysas writing, His gift of Peace will also be granted to me.😇

I am also praying this for you.🙏

When to walk away

It was a great read. Lisa broke down forgiveness, if healthy or not. What we should do in situations because they are all different

Much Needed

This is such a compassionate book about the messiness of and need for forgiveness. The author was vulnerable, kind, and led into the “how” very well.
