I can hear my body whisper now

I never write audible reviews but this book is so good.. and the narration by Marne Young is so soothing that you feel like you’re meditating and listening to the book.

Wonderful, well worth listening to

I downloaded this book based on Audible reviews, and I'm so glad I did. I can now add my review to the rest. The narrator's voice perfectly matches the material, and the generosity and inspiring nature of the delivery and tone of the book means as much as the information itself. I've read quite a few books on health and healing and have engaged in spiritual practices for many years, and yet this book is truly special. The information contained inside is fairly basic – much of it you might have heard somewhere else – and yet hearing it in the way it's delivered here makes it penetrate more.

The author also does get very practical. While I'll probably listen to the audio version again, I might also order the print book so I can more easily refer to the material, such as the suggestions regarding diet. Highly recommended book.

Narrator Awful if you have Misophonia

What did you love best about Hear Your Body Whisper?

I've only just started reading the Kindle version and wanted the audiobook so I can listen at work. However, the narrator is ANNOYING -- her B's sound like P's with a lot of pop noise, which is extremely irritating if you have Misophonia and/or Sensory Processing Disorder. She also sounds overdramatic in her presentation, too in-your-face personal...yuck!!! I really can't listen to her. I'm going to just read the Kindle book and leave the audiobook for my husband to listen to. (He's not as sensitive to sounds as I am.)

Would you be willing to try another one of Marnye Young’s performances?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! The only thing that would be worse would be if she had a whistling S-noise, which is beyond excruciating, like nails on a chalkboard. But this comes close.

Any additional comments?

The content of this book, so far, seems excellent, and I'm super excited to put these techniques into practice. I just WISH they'd chosen a different narrator...the narrator can make or break an audiobook, and this one totally breaks it for me. Not just the annoying sounds, but her too-intimate, right-up-in-your-face presentation that feels like gorging on marshmallow fluff. Ugh, makes me feel ill.

A simple approach to improving health

This book is a simple approach to improve health in a natural way. Listening to it was enjoyable. The narrator voice was relaxing and calming. If you want a complete guide to overall health that does not follow the ideology of Western medicine, read this book. I came away feeling I could make practical changes for big results. The only complaint I have is that is wasn't longer!

inspiring and life changing

I absolutely loved this book. I was attracted by the cover, the human body and the word whispers and healing. I am a child of god, a mother of 3, a fiancee, and a special educator. I also am a spiritualist and medium. I am always looking for ways to heal through natural ways and to help others heal. I believe in a plethora of information to base my teachings off of. Your book helped me expand and speak intelligently about topics I teach about. Your chapters were well written and researched - cited. I referred your book to over 20 of my colleagues and friends combined. Thank you and I will be looking for more information about teas, plants, and alternative healing

Common sense yet unique approach to healing

Thisis an easy to listen to common sense yet unique approach to health and healing. In this fast-paced world, this book encourages us to slow down and listen to our bodies, taking the time to feed them well and give them the love they deserve. What do we have to lose?

Inspired me to be less of a dictator with my body

Very well written. Only wish the book was longer with more deatail. Would like more of an actual summed up plan. Would be great if meditations was recorded.

I love this audiobook for several reasons.

What I love most about this book is how the author supports us to develop a compassionate LOVING RELATIONSHIP with our body. That loving relationship is the primary factor that will help you APPLY all the things you already know that you should be doing. So many diet and exercise programs fail – not because people don’t know what to do – but because they don’t love their body. Having said that, Otakara shares essential information that many people still don’t know. Like the incredibly bad effects of sugar and artificial sweeteners. I’m a major proponent of meditation and Otakara is, too. I’m a licensed psychotherapist and I tell my clients about healthy choices all the time, but do they listen and apply the information? Sadly, it’s a major struggle for many. I’ll be recommending this book because it does such a good job of helping people develop self-compassion and self-love, the KEY ingredient in making choices for on-going health and healing. The narrator does a great job of being gentle and non-judgmental and thereby helps me be more loving toward my body. Thank you, Otakara, for your lovely contribution to the health of humanity.
