Northern Minnesota in the Late 1800's

This set of stories are set in Northern Minnesota which I enjoyed as a Minnesota native. I don't think the author did enough research on the climate of Northern Minnesota; a couple of the stories included winter time settings. Weather in that latitude would have temps of 20° to 25° Farenheit with snow-covered ground that would preclude camping on the ground and be very hard to travel by coach in the late 1800's. I set that aside for this review and only took off 1 star from my rating.

The historical setting

My husband and myself listen to this book and three previous we like their storyline. My husband felt that there could be some more action but all in all it was entertaining.

Clean and wholesome

I throughly enjoyed this book series its clean God fearing way of showing a meaningful romance while also including the old west from the towns people to the Indian community was so true to life it was a breath of fresh air. It's such a relief to listen to a book series that doesn't revolve around playing mind games and how many times the characters can have sex not to mention having to give every torid detail of the characters sexual conquests until that becomes the whole story is a relief. This series goes so deep into the cultures of both the white and Indian peoples that it makes you want to climb back into the history books to learn more!
