Publisher's summary
Family, friends, and strangers from around the country find sanctuary in the mountains of North Carolina as they wait out the tempest of the storm…
Tempest of the Storm is the continuing story in the Home to Clare Harbor series of family, friends, and strangers who are drawn together by forces over which they have no control. They have weathered what many believed to be the storm of the century. Now they face a storm of another kind that could pose an even greater threat to all of them.Senator Gareth Dyersen knows that the threat he and all those who have taken refuge in his mountain home is no longer just an issue of restoring what has been stolen. His long held suspicions that what they face is far more involved has been confirmed and puts all of them at a greater risk .
He turns to those who he trusts as he does few others for their knowledge and assistance. But he knows that it is their own skills and ingenuity that are their greatest defense. They can count on others but must depend on themselves first. He feels fortunate that including himself there are three generations of those who’d served in the military and were now part of his extended family. Each one of them determined to share their wealth of knowledge and expertise to keep everyone safe but at the same time he regrets that there is a need to.
Fortunately, his family home is a treasure cove of much of what they need to survive including an old ham radio, antiques from another time that make their lives easier, and even vintage landline phones that allow for communications that are safer as they do all they can to keep their location a secret.
And even as they do all they can to keep their sanctuary hidden and survive the impact of the power outage, life continues…including an unexpected romance…or two.
Tempest of the Storm is the fourth book in the Home to Clare Harbor series. If you enjoys mysteries and clean romance, entangled and sometimes complicated families, old and young heroines and heroes who are strong, loyal, and compassionate, the Home to Clare Harbors series may be perfect for you.

The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

It’s the summer of ’77 in New York City, and the only thing more unnerving than the scorching heatwave is the rampant murder, leaving washed-up homicide detective Richard Dietrich on edge. Caught up in a mysterious second homicide with an even more perplexing perpetrator, Dietrich starts to second guess his instincts—and his memory—as he searches for answers at the bottom of a bottle.
