Great story from the other perspective
Have read every book in order, so it was refreshing to still have familiar characters around, but the story being narrated from the other side. excellent read.

Good story, but…
I enjoyed the story, but DCI Craig Gillard was really on the periphery of it. It was odd for an installment in a series. As always, Marston York was excellent as narrator.

Disappointing
This shouldn’t be considered a DCI Gillard novel as he barely appears. The storyline is ludicrous and none of the characters are worth getting to know. Seems like a rush to get something out for the series without much care .

Her Destiny
Struggled to finish? No way! This story captured and contained me. Great Author and Narrator! But I must say I need to know if the lady lawyer ever had to pay. I hope to learn everything. Ending the way it did was just a touch disappointing. Looking forward to more wonderfulness! Thanks Nick!

You’re kidding, right?!?
As a book in a series, it doesn’t work. Almost nothing with Craig Gillard, doesn’t follow the same set of right and wrong, the “good guy” doesn’t win, and our tenacious DCI just gives up? None of that makes sense.
I enjoyed hearing other points of view, but not enough to sacrifice Craig’s character. I’m 3 books beyond this one now and still bothered by it-so it definitely holds attention.
I would not recommend. Very frustrating ending. And for readers of police crime mysteries it is unfinished and discouraging. And the ending, just as it is giving hope, brings angst and anger.
