Publisher's summary

Witch-hunting plagued much of Europe throughout the 16th and 17th centuries, but Scotland’s witch hunts were among the most severe. Combining eyewitness accounts with actual trial transcripts, British journalist Elizabeth Lynn Linton provides a fascinating glimpse into the black magic and fairy lore behind Scotland's infamous witch trials.

Sad

I was excited by the title that this would be a story, something epic to listen to, but instead it’s a listing of “historical” records. I love accents but this one was often so thick I could not understand what was being said. I like that it’s a Scottish accent but wish it was a smidge less thick.

Medieval true crime **burning guaranteed**

Gripping and compelling, immersively narrated, stories about real "Witches" of Scotland

The revealing way they lived and thought during ancient times.

Trials filled with speculation, blinded by misguided ideologies, finally led to capital sentences.

Brilliant women lives worth remembering.

What a waste of time and money

I couldn’t get to the end. It isn’t a story or book, listing of accounts that happened or May have happened.

narration

I think I would have liked the book, but the narrator had a very thick Scottish brogue and was very hard for me to understand.

Message: Practicing the craft will bring suffering

Blame the victim undertones. Didn't expect that from actual accounts. Speaking which, it was advertised as story, not documentary.
