Publisher's summary

Don't miss the Wizard's Tower Books 1-3 Box Set, a LitRPG adventure about a cranky wizard who seeks solitude in orer to uncover all of the mysteries of magic.

The humans call me Nemon Fargus. They call me wizard, and [Elementalist] and [Enchanter]. They call me teacher. They call me adventurer.

But I don't care. Not anymore.

For more than 150 years I've served the Kingdom of Sena. Through four Kings and a Queen. Two wars and a rebellion. I've founded and taught at a magic school. I've fought against beast waves and dungeon breaks.

But now? Now, the one close friend I had left has passed. So, I'm done with their politics and their economics. The short and busy lives of humans are more burden than benefit on the weary soul of this half-elf.

Now, I'm looking for a refuge, a place that can well and truly be my own. Away from the growing cities and the bustling markets, away from the pointless wars, away from the eager students and the arrogant adventurers.

I'm seeking the peaceful life of a wizard in his tower, studying magic to advance my spellcraft...We'll see if that happens.

Experience this LitRPG Series Bundle from Gregory Allanther, the bestselling author of An Old Man's Journey.

Relatable lead character kept me entertained.

Overall I really liked the books. The lead character was relatable, and the storyline was filled with just enough surprises to keep it from being predictable. Each book could have easily been twice as long to add character development and backstory, so I'm really hoping there will be some prequels and spin-offs someday. while there are references to tears of magic, and something called a sold scroll, there's nothing else that really ties it to a game based system, so I would say it almost doesn't even qualify as part of the recent rash of games turned into book form. There are a few that have gotten it right, but most get too distracting with that level of detail to interrupt a story. this seres idoes not have that problem, and I recommend it to anybody who likes wizard focused fantasy.

Jeff Hayes makes everything great!

I really enjoy the nonchalant no nonsense bearing the mc has! Sure it's a little slow with the action but not every book has to be in your face nonstop violence. This book reads well and is definitely worth a listen.

Fantastic Performance and Interesting Story

Taking an already accomplished character and having him work his way through a fleshed out world instead is nice to see in the world of farmboys to heros and isekai. While the MC is undeniably an arrogant dude, he also earned it and I love the way his flaws are brought to the forefront, right before doing some ridiculous wizarding.

As always with a crew like this, the audio performance is exceptional. I doubt I have to tell anyone that the line up of narrators is almost unfair. While I'm not 100% this is a SoundBooth Theater production, i know jeff and justin do a lot of work over there and encourage anyone to check it out. The work their doing is bringing something special to audio books.

A grand story of world changing events and unnecessary discrimination of Carrots

good story the MC is what makes this story, although he fails in matters due to his Hubris and petty behavior. He looks out for those around himself and thinks of things cautiously for the most part. my only bickering about the story is how slow it can get at points, with the MC so self absorbed in his projects and the goings of life that the author makes the story drag for a bit, and or events happen that were avoidable... really rough seeing the MC just bottles everything after rightfully blaming himself for his errors. multiple times

Satisfying high fantasy, with a LITRPG sprinkle

Overall a very entertaining tale. I like the main character and most of the side characters. I'll pretend Lily doesn't exist.

A very well thought out world. The magic and plot were well planned. There were a few side plots that didn't seem like they ever went anywhere but as a whole, the story reads like a slice of life fantasy.

Main audiobook narrator is amazing. I personally find the female narrator grating, but her voice is clear if annoying.

While levels a la LITRPG exists, it's done in a low key manner and is very digestible.

good story terrible narration

I'm riding this with you with voice to text so apologies for them in spelling errors. the story itself is good. Jeff Hayes was good. Andrea Parks new was good. the main narrator though was just terrible. I ended up listening to the thing at 1 and 1/2 speed. just get through it quicker to feel like I didn't waste the credit. his voice was slow and monotonous and by speeding it up it only reached normally human speech levels for the most part, this book wrapped up really well, but I feel it's possible for there to be a fourth book in this series. there's enough plot hooks left on finished. if I had it to do over again I would have read these and never have listened to them. hope this helps

well written, excellent narration!

95% of the books kept me captivated not wanting to stop, a few parts I zoned out from. some parts were so well written and narrated I couldn't stop laughing, and at times crying. the interlude before chapter 20 in book 3 left me bawling and filled with such love and sorrow! I love when a story can move me so much!

This mesmerizing tale is really a slice-of-life!

After reading Old Man's Journey another gamelit novel by Gregory Allanther I really wasn't sure what to expect from Wizard's Tower, however I expected that it'd be unique! And I wasn't wrong...
This story's about another grumpy old man Nemon Fargus a half elf, who wants to retire from it all. From his life as a teacher, mentor, benefactor, and an adventurer! His goal is to find an outta the way Tower and continue his own studies and experimentation. But, alas life gets in the way! So he finds himself torn from being grumpy to nurturing... And you can't help but like Nemon Fargus. And yes, there's still monster waves to stop!
You're definitely gonna want to add this to your library. Although the action takes the back seat, the book is smartly written and really interesting!
This happens to be the third production I've heard from Soundbooth Theater and I want to say they have Dynamite productions. The narration is done by Justin Thomas James, Jeff Hays, and Andrea Parsneau... and that's what I call a great combination of voice performers!

As Nemon Fargus faces down a war in order to be prepare for a pestilence that he's not sure that even he can stop. Even with all his over powered glory.
The book was narrated by Soundbooth Theater and they're wonderful giving the book a full cast feel even though it's only done by three people Justin Thomas James James, Jeff Hays, and Andrea Parsneau.

Bk3,

After listening to the first two books I hadn’t realized that this mesmerizing tale was actually a slice-of-life adventure, following the curmudgeon Nemon Fargus. Seriously all he wanted to do is hole up in his Wizard's Tower and experiment with his own ideas and projects, hoping that he could develop a longevity spell! But the pestilence is attacking and destroying everything. City, by town, and by homestead leaving only barren earth in it's wake. So relax, grab a glass of wine and let Soundbooth Theater tell you a story!
